The troubles of the newspaper industry have been well documented over the past 12 years. On the local level, the news is grim for those businesses bringing local news to small communities all across the nation. For every community newspaper or website that goes out of business, there are thousands of local citizens left in the dark about what’s happening in their own communities. The Claremont Courier has launched new initiatives to partner with readers and businesses to help prevent a news desert in our own backyard.
